15th CORUM Snow Polo World Cup Kitzbühel
A Maserati, which is fast becoming the symbol of Polo sat in the snow by the entrance to the Austrian Snow Polo event in Kitzbuhel to welcome all that come. Even though the event is still being set up it is looking very plush, the marquees had some heating system where hot air is pumped into the seating area. I guess it will keep people warm, although I will just dress for the fact it is -5 degrees and in the snow!
The stables, which are purpose built marquees look very tidy, running water and electricity supplied ensuring the ponies are maintained adequately, usual high standard of Polo. Even the hay stacked in abundance outside has the touch of snow!
I am convinced that Polo is formed of very friendly people, yet again when turning up to a Polo event, the people I have met have been helpful and polite. I will be attending a few games in France this year so I can put that to the litmus test (I lived in France for 15 years still calling it home).
As each day unfolds, I will create a brief blog post to keep those of you interested informed of the event; I will also do the same for St Moritz last in the month. However, this looks to be a great event; I look forward to each day, and its outcome.
So....more to come tomorrow.
